The apricot is the fruit of the apricot tree. This fruit is cultivated for more than 2000 years in Asia and more particularly in China. It is a stone fruit with a velvety skin. It is harvested from June to August and makes this fruit the symbol of summer thanks to its sweet flesh. The stone makes it possible to obtain an oil very much used in cosmetics for its moisturizing power, but which is not very fragrant. In perfumery, no essence can be extracted from its flesh, whose sweet and almond notes are reconstituted through synthesis. Apricot thus brings a fruity and velvety nuance to a composition. We find its warm accent in kilim, our oriental patchouli.
