Cassia

Cassia is a rare shrub native to tropical America. It belongs to the mimosaceae family. This shrub with green foliage produces ball-shaped flowers with a bright yellow color like mimosa. The cassia is also called yellow acacia or fragrant acacia because its flowers give off an intense fragrance with floral notes, reminiscent of mimosa. Perfumers can use cassia absolute, obtained by extracting the flowers with volatile solvents. This raw material also evokes the smell of violets with a honeyed aspect. Its fragrance has pungent notes and powdery tones. Cassia flower is found in both floral and fruity fragrances.
