Copahu balm

This ingredient comes from a tree native to South America and West Africa called copayer (also spelled copaia). This tropical tree can grow up to 20 meters high. It produces a resin called copahu balm that Amazonian people use to heal wounds. It is in fact a resinous oil that the tree releases by making incisions in its bark. This balsam is then steam distilled to deliver an essential oil with many virtues and great odorant power. It is the essential oil of the sportsmen par excellence because it is recommended to treat the muscular or articular pains. In perfumery, noses appreciate the copahu balm for its woody and balsamic note that reveals both resinous and aromatic nuances.
