Eucalyptus is a tree native to Australia (which covers 95% of the country’s forests). Certain species have been planted in Latin America and Europe, notably around the Mediterranean basin. Its grey-green foliage is known for its therapeutic virtues, to clear the respiratory tract or relieve burns. For perfumery and aromatherapy, its leaves and twigs are steam distilled to obtain a very fragrant essence. Eucalyptus is one of the key ingredients in aromatic accords. It brings a lot of freshness to the compositions by adding certain dynamism and camphorated nuances.
