Honeysuckle is a climbing plant of the Caprifoliaceae family native to China. It is now found in the northern hemisphere and around the Mediterranean Sea. The honeysuckle is covered with white, pink, yellow or orange tubular flowers that bloom at the end of the winter. They give off a scent close to that of jasmine. Its notes are honeyed and vegetal while having a fresh and feminine side. Using honeysuckle in an olfactory composition gives it an airy, spring-like aspect. In perfumery, it is not possible to extract an essence from the flower. Its sweet and floral scent is reproduced in the laboratory from other natural essences or by using synthetic molecules.
