Mace

Also called nutmeg flower, mace is actually the thin film that envelops and protects the nutmeg. If nutmeg is known by almost everyone for its aroma and fragrance, mace is just as interesting olfactory-wise! Noses can use essential oil of mace, obtained through the distillation of the orange skin. This essence gives off a spicy and fresh scent, even more delicate than that of nutmeg. Used in fine perfumery for its sweet and mellow notes, mace is still mostly present in men’s fragrances.
