Pandan is a tropical plant native to Indonesia that is widespread in Southeast Asia. It has long green leaves, with a powerful fragrance. Rather unknown in Europe, the pandan is widely used in Asian kitchen to flavor and color dishes. The one called Asian vanilla delivers an inimitable and gourmand aroma of vanilla and almond, with a very vegetable scent. This exotic ingredient is beginning to make its appearance in perfumery. Some noses use the natural extract of the plant, obtained from crushed pandan leaves. This still unusual raw material brings comforting and green notes to fragrances.
