The quince is the fruit of a quince tree whose origins lie in the southern Caucasus. This “golden apple”, cousin of the pear and the apple, is eaten in autumn for its deliciously sweet taste. The Romans already used the seeds of the fruit during the Empire to grind them in order to add them to their perfumed compositions.
Reproduced through synthetic chemistry, the quince note delivers a tangy and fruity scent, quite subtle. It is in harmony with the fresh and green notes of the floral ingredients. By this combination, perfumers create gourmand florals or fruity florals… Very appreciated by noses in spring and summer!
