Hello Ann, and thank you for your feedback: in case of doubt it is always a good idea to ask and I see 2 explanations to your problem. First is that we had to slightly modify SO's formula in 2021 to comply with a change of the European cosmetic regulation. We worked with our perfumer for months on the reformulation of SO with the main objective to respect its original scent. We managed to get very close but, despite our best efforts, we also find a discreet difference in the base note. We can join you on this. Secondly, your feeling could also be explained by a simple fact: before your last order, the previous one dated back from 2020. If you are comparing your bottle from 2020 to your bottle from 2024, it is completely normal to find an olfactory difference between both. Indeed, perfumes naturally evolves over time, and become more intense, often more sweet too. The bottle purchased this year has been freshly produced, so it is normal if its perfume is not the same than the one from 2020. Give your new bottle some time and you will see how it evolves. I hope this helps you to understand and explain your feeling: since 1988, we always intended to create beautiful fragrances, so be sure we never decreased the quality of our perfumes. No: the name was indeed changed to ALSO in 2025, but the formula remained exactly the same! The aim of the new name is simply to emphasise its oriental, amber-spicy identity more clearly. The fragrance and its concentration are strictly identical: same composition, same balance between the bright citrus top notes, the floral-spicy heart and the warm amber base. If you loved SO, you will find exactly the same perfume in ALSO.

We are talking about a modern, warm and luminous ambergris. The citrus opening sets in motion a heart where geranium and a hint of coriander bring structure without heaviness. Then come the resinous facets of cistus, the roundness of tonka bean and a modestly dosed patchouli: a sensual amber trail that warms the skin without weighing it down.

Spray this eau de parfum from about 15 centimetres onto your pulse points (neck, nape, behind the ears) and let it live, without rubbing your wrists. Slightly moisturised skin helps the scent diffuse evenly. For a subtle halo, a mist in your hair, inside a jacket or on a scarf works very well. The idea: a present yet controlled trail.

If you enjoy gourmand accords, pair ALSO with vanille for an irresistible ambered sweetness. Looking for a more ‘bare skin’ effect? A touch of musc will soften the edges and bring a clean note. For added depth, layering with ippi patchouli or kilim enhances the resinous and woody structure. Spray ALSO first, let it settle for a few seconds, then add the other fragrance for a harmonious, personalised blend.
